His road to Job Corps began 2,000 miles away. Marquise grew up in New York, finished High school, and graduated in basic automotive repair. “I came to (Clearfield) Job Corps because I felt like it was a great program and a great opportunity and chance to do something that I wouldn’t be able to do if I didn’t have the resources available.” Job Corps provided him with more than just trade skills. “The social skills you learn here, the hands-on training, and the book smarts you learn here are unmatched,” Marquise said. “You would pay for all this at a technical school, but that doesn’t mean you will get everything that Job Corps offers. The staff here are dedicated to one thing. That’s helping us succeed.”

Marquise’s family is beaming with pride. “My dad is proud,” he explained. “My mom is as well. I’m glad I did Job Corps. I’m super excited for my future, and the best thing I can say is that Job Corps is what you make of it. You will get one hundred percent out if you put in your one hundred percent.”
